Accommodation

The R&D Management Conference will take place on the École Polytechnique campus, on the outskirt of Paris. As a result, we suggest two options for accommodation:

  • Massy is the closest city to the campus (8 minutes by bus) and is very well connected (there is a TGV – French high-speed trains – station and Orli international airport terminals are within 20 min by public transit and 15 min by car). By public transit, it is only 20 min away from Paris's historic centre (e.g. the famed "Latin Quarter").  There is a reasonably large choice of hotels in the vicinity of the train station.
  • Paris is further away… but well, Paris is Paris! So we thought some of you might prefer to stay in Paris city centre during the conference instead of next to the campus. While the campus is easily and rapidly accessible from Paris (within 30 min from Paris city centre by public transit – see location and access page for more details), we thought a dedicated shuttle service would be more convenient, and this is what we are offering!

Accommodation in Paris City Centre

A shuttle service from Paris to the École Polytechnique campus will be arranged every morning of the conference, with return shuttles in the afternoon/evening (depending on the social programme). Shuttles will depart and return to Place d'Italie (Italy Square) on the left bank of Paris. Place d'Italie is the perfect mix of  'old' and 'new' Paris and is within walking distance to the historical Latin Quarter. There are plenty of hotels of all ranges and prices next to Place d'Italie. But remember to book early. Paris is a very popular city in June and Place d'Italie is definitely one of tourists' favourites.

The shuttle service will be offered free of charge to conference participants. If you wish to use this facility, you will be asked to sign up for it at a later stage.

Accommodation in Massy

Massy is very close to the École Polytechnique campus. Just hop on a bus at the Massy train station and within 8 minutes you have arrived! Buses run every four minutes during peak hours (good news, it's just at the time you will be making your way to or from the conference). Off-peak, there is one bus every 15 min.

There are several hotels and apparthotels at different price ranges just next to the Massy train station, and a reasonable number of stores, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Massy train station is just 20 min away by public transit from Paris' historic centre.
