Thierry Rayna (École Polytechnique)

Thierry RaynaThierry Rayna is Professor of Innovation Management at École Polytechnique, within the Department of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (MIE), and Fellow of Management Research Centre (CRG) of the CNRS Innovation Interdisciplinary Institute (i3). Beforehand,he spent 10 years in the UK, where he held positions at the University of Cambridge, the LSE, UCL and Imperial College London. Prof. Rayna is a Digital Economy specialist and his research investigates the radical changes that digital technologies (e.g. 3D Printing, IoT, A.I., Blockchain) brings about to businesses, industries, and the economy as a whole. Prof. Rayna has served as an advisor for companies in the cultural and creative industries, telecom companies, as well as for policymakers. He also mentors start-ups. Thierry Rayna is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Manufacturing Technology & Management. 

 

 
Sihem Ben Mahmoud-Jouini (HEC)

Sihem Ben Mahmoud-Jouini is Associate professor at HEC Paris. She holds a PhD from University Paris 9 Dauphine and carries out her research at the Management Research Center (CRG) of École Polytechnique, a part of the CNRS Innovation Interdisciplinary Institute (i3), where she is an associated researcher. She has been visiting fellow at both Stern Business School (NYU) and Babson College. She is interested in the management of exploration and organizational ambidexterity, creativity, design and international management of innovation. Her research has been published in outlets such as Journal of Product Innovation Management, International Journal of Technology Management, International Journal of Innovation Management, Creativity and Innovation Management, Management International, International Journal of Project Management.

Cécile Chamaret

Cécile Chamaret is an associate professor in Ecole Polytechnique (France). She earned her master’s degree in business administration at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, completed her Ph.D. in Ecole Polytechnique (France) and spent more than 5 years teaching as an assistant professor in Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. Her research activities focus on consumer behaviour and resistance to innovation. She has a special geographic interest for the UAE. She has published research papers in JBR, IJRDM, Decisions Marketing etc.

 

 
Florence Charue-Duboc

Florence Charue-Duboc is director of the innovation management and entrepreneurship department of Ecole Polytechnique and research director at CNRS. Her research work deals with technological innovation management and strategy. She has studied project management in science based industry such as chemical and pharmaceutical industry and the management of upstream phases of technological innovation and the role and specificities of interfirm cooperation in those exploratory processes. More specifically she investigates the local embeddedness of innovation development and how this local embededdness contributes to global innovation. She has conducted empirical analysis in diverse firms in various sector (automotive industry, Industrial gas and social care sector). She holds an Engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique and a PhD in Management Science from Ecole des Mines, Paris, France. She has published her work in international journals such as International Journal of Innovation Management, Creativity and Innovation Management, Project Management Journal, International Journal of Technology management, Industry and Corporate Change and edited three books.

 

 
Hervé Dumez

Hervé Dumez is the director of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation (i3-CNRS) and of the Research Center in Management
Studies of the École polytechnique (i3-CRG). He studied at the École Normale Supérieure and at la Sorbonne (PhD). He has been visiting professor at M.I.T. and at the Stockholm School of Eonomics (SCORE). He is associate editor of the European Management Review. His research programme is about strategy, market structures and regulation policies. He wrote more than sixty papers (Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics, European Management Review, M[a]n[a]gement) and of ten books (among them : Comprehensive Research. A methodological and epistemological introduction to qualitative research, Copenhagen Business School Press, 2016).

 

 
Rémi Maniak

Rémi Maniak is a Professor in Management Science at the École Polytechnique. He graduated from Paris Business School ESCP Europe and obtained a PhD in Management from the École Polytechnique. His research focuses on business models and forms of organization tailored to innovation-based competition and the digital revolution. He also advises several corporations and European projects, and has published many academic books and articles on his specialist subjects. He published his work in top-ranked scholar journals such as Journal of Product Innovation Management, International Journal of Project Management, or Project Management Journal.

 

 

Christophe Midler

Christophe Midler is Research Director at the Management Research Center and Innovation Management professor at Ecole Polytechnique, Paris. He is member of National Academy of Technologies of France and Doctor Honoris Causa at Umea University, Sweden. His research topics are product development, project and innovation management. He has explored these topics in various industrial contexts, especially automotive industry. He has published his work in various journals as Research Policy, Project Management Journal or International Journal of Project Management. Recent authored or co-authored books are Working on innovation, (2010) The Logan Epic ; new trajectories for innovation (2013), Managing and Working in Project Society – Institutional Challenges of Temporary Organizations (2015), Rethinking Innovation and Design for Emerging Markets, Inside the Renault Kwid Project, (2017).

 

 
Thomas Paris

Thomas Paris has a Ph.D. in Management Science, he is currently researcher at NRS (GREG HEC), and associate-researcher at CRG Ecole polytechnique. He has become a specialist in the field of creative industries (movie and TV, music, fashion, book, architecture, advertising, high cooking, industrial design.). He carries research both on the creation management and on the economical and regulatory points of view. He also works on innovation management and organizational learning, in partnership with big companies and start-ups. As an affiliate professor at HEC Paris, he has created a course about Creation management. He's involved in the Master program of Ecole polytechnique. He hosts the Creation seminar at the Ecole de Paris du management.

 

 
Svenja Sommer

Svenja Sommer is an Associate Professor at HEC Paris. She received her PhD from INSEAD, France. Her research studies the management of innovation and product development projects, in particular the management of highly uncertain projects, of the fuzzy front end of product development, and of the collaborative development within or across firms.  Her research has been published in journals such as Management Science, Organization Science and POM.  She serves as a Senior Editor for the “New Product Development, R&D, and Project Management” department of POMS. 

 

 
Véronique Steyer

Véronique Steyer is a Maître de Conférences at Ecole Polytechnique since September 2016. She has research interests in process organization studies, especially sensemaking in risk and crisis situations and legitimating processes in innovative contexts. Her current research projects focus on resistance processes, notably to innovation. Véronique graduated from ESCP Europe with an M.Sc. in management. She also earned a joint M.Sc. in organizational theory from University Paris-X, ESCP Europe, Ecole des Mines de Paris and Ecole Polytechnique and a Phd degree from ESCP Europe and University Paris Ouest. She has been visiting researcher at the University of Warwick (UK), and has also a management consulting experience. She has published articles in various journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Sociology of Health and Illness and the International Journal of Human Resource Management.

 

 

Théodore de Campigneulles

Théodore is a graduated student from Sciences Po Bordeaux who also holds a master degree in innovation and change management from Ecole Centrale Paris. He has professional experiences in both large corporations and startups. He is currently a doctoral student at i3-CRG-Ecole Polytechnique under the supervision of Christophe Midler and Rémi Maniak. His research focuses on the strategic and organizational innovation management of projects linked to autonomous vehicles. The first year of his thesis has been devoted to literature review on the relevant theoretic fields and on exploratory research within Renault on the Autonomous Mobility program. The next two years will be devoted to comparative study with Chinese auto firms. 
 

Margaux Grall

Margaux is a first year Ph.D. student at i3-CRG-Ecole Polytechnique. Her research focus on innovation and transformation practises of large corporations. She is mainly interested in service and transport industries such like airlines. She graduated from Montpellier Business School and has professional experiences in both large companies and SMEs. Under the supervision of Florence Charue-Duboc and Paul Chiambaretto, she is conducting an industry-oriented doctoral thesis (CIFRE) at Air France, the french national airline. 

 

 

Albane Grandazzi

Albane Grandazzi is a post-doctoral researcher at i3-CRG-Ecole Polytechnique. She received her Ph.D in Management from Paris-Dauphine University in 2018. Her research focuses on the transformation of work practices in various organizational spatial contexts (in particular transit spaces and collaborative spaces), through an ethnographic approach. Since 2015, she is a member of the Research Group on Collaborative Spaces (RGCS).

 

Jonathan Langlois

Jonathan is a first year Ph.D. student at i3-CRG-Ecole Polytechnique. His work focuses on Open Innovation strategy in the European Defense sector and he is co-conducting an industry-oriented doctoral theses (CIFRE PhDs), under the direction of Sihem Jouini and Romaric Servajean-Hilst. He is an alumnus of HEC Paris Grande Ecole Programme and of the Master of Innovation Management of Ecole Polytechnique (Master PIC). Since 2018, he is responsible for Open Innovation activities at MBDA, the European leader in missile systems.

 

Estelle Peyrard

Estelle is a Ph.D. Student at i3-CRG-Ecole Polytechnique (France). Her thesis is directed by Thierry Rayna and Cécile Chamaret. Her research focuses on innovation and disabilities. After a master at Audencia (France) she worked for 12 year in industrial and services companies on transformation projects. She started her Ph.D In 2018 and is particularly interested in inclusive innovation, universal design and user innovation

 
 
 
 
Sandra Renou

Sandra is a second-year Ph.D. Student at i3-CRG-Ecole Polytechnique, and assistant teacher in strategy organizational theory, since 2017. After a master's degree in law and business administration at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Rennes, she specialized in management research at Paris Dauphine University. Under the supervision of Hervé Dumez, her Ph.D. research focuses on collective strategies of firms in the renewable energy industry, and on meta-organizations (especially trade associations) as the organizational devices supporting these strategies.
