Submission guidelines

(Please note that abstract submission to the 2019 edition of the R&D Management Conference has now closed. Guidelines below are provided to authors whose abstract has been accepted as a result of the review process that has now been completed. Unless your abstract has been accepted, it is no longuer possible to submit an academic contribution to the 2019 edition of the conference. You are very welcome, however to attend the conference. Registration to the conference is open to everyone, regardless of whether they are presenting a paper or not)

Presentation Guidelines for the R&D Management Conference 2019

Each presentation will be allocated a 20-minute slot, so please prepare a presentation that is not longer than 15 minutes, to enable sufficient time for questions and feedback.

Rooms are equipped with projectors, but are generally not fitted with computers, so please bring your own presentation device (e.g. laptop, tablet), as well as a USB stick with your presentation on it (in most cases, loading all presentations on one computer makes the process smoother and saves time for presentation).  Please note that depending on the room, projectors use either VGA/PC or HDMI cables. If you use a recent computer or tablet that does not have VGA and HDMI ports, please ensure to bring the relevant adapters (that is typically the case for laptops and tablets fitted with MiniDisplay ports, USB C, or Lightning).

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Full Paper Submission Guidelines for the R&D Management Conference 2019

Your abstract has been accepted, congratulations! For your work to be included in the final programme of the conference, it is compulsory that you submit a full paper, corresponding to the abstract that was accepted, by May 31 at the latest (please note that, by this date, at least one of the authors of the paper would have to be fully registered – i.e. registration fees paid – as otherwise we will be unable to include your paper in the final programme).

Submitted full papers should be at least 4,000 words long (excluding front cover, abstract, bibliography and appendices). To maximise chances that fellow delegates read your work, it is advised not to exceed 8,000 words in total (excluding front cover, abstract, bibliography and appendices).

Submitted full papers should follow usual academic publication standards and include the title of the paper, the names of the authors, their affiliation, contact details, as well as a short abstract (typically 150–200 words) on the front page. Pages should be numbered.

Aside from that, there are no particular guidelines or templates. Just ensure that the paper is easy to read (typically font size 10–12) on screen and keep in mind that some people might want to print it (please do check prior to submission that it prints well, and ensure that figures and diagrams read well in greyscale).

Submission format is PDF only (no MS Word or text file allowed). The maximum file size is 10 MB. Submission of full paper takes place through ConfTool exclusively:  https://www.conftool.org/rdmanagement2019/

To upload your full paper, simply log into ConfTool using the link above, click on “Your Submissions” and then on the “Final Upload” link located on the left of the box with your paper’s details (please note that only the authors who have initially submitted the abstract can upload the full paper, not their co-authors).

Submitted papers will be shared with all the conference participants ahead of the conference, but not publicly. There will not be any proceedings published to comply with the stricter prior-publication policies that many journals have now adopted.
