Position of Assistant Professor of Management Full time
The Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MIE) department at École polytechnique has an opening for a full time Assistant Professor in Management.
We invite applications from lecturers and researchers in management science disciplines, particularly in organizational theory, strategy, management control/organizational and social performance management, marketing, human resources, with a particular interest in those whose research activities focus on innovation in all its dimensions (e.g. innovation management, innovation project management, innovative organizational processes, strategy and innovation, etc.) or entrepreneurship.
Candidates must hold a doctorate and demonstrate teaching and research experience, as well as the potential to publish in the best scientific journals in their field. Experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder and/or multi-cultural projects will be particularly appreciated. Teaching experience with an engineering audience and professional experience in a company or organization would be a plus. A good level of English.
One of the responsibilities associated with this position is linked to the Ecole Polytechnique's involvement in a European network of universities, EuroteQ, which have chosen to pool their thoughts on their respective development, as well as joint initiatives, particularly in terms of educational innovation and continuing education. In view of the importance of management in the continuing education of engineers, the School has chosen to entrust the management of certain aspects of this collaborative project to a teacher-researcher in management. The candidate will have a good command of the English language, and knowledge of the executive education landscape would be appreciated.
The successful candidate will contribute to the department's teaching activities at Bachelor's, Polytechnic and Master's levels, with courses on the fundamentals of Management, as well as specialty courses in line with his/her profile and supervision of student work. Teaching duties will be reduced to take account of the coordinating responsibility for the EuroteQ network.
The successful candidate will conduct his or her research at the CRG, Centre de recherche en gestion de l'École polytechnique (including 16 researchers, 18 associate researchers, 25 PhD students), part of the CNRS i3 laboratory, Institut interdisciplinaire de l'innovation, (UMR9217, 89 researchers, 52 associate researchers, 21 postdocs and 120 PhD students), one of Europe's leading research laboratories dedicated to innovation.
