Abstract

Over the past two decades, the field of research in management and organizational studies has grown considerably.

Among the productions of this field in French, the work of our late colleague Jacques Girin grouped in this book is outstanding. During his career, Jacques Girin published a number of articles and book chapters that have played an important role in the development of new paths. Until now scattered in various media, sometimes confidential, they have been combined here in a single book to allow any French language professor and researcher an access to a thought that is rich, original and relevant.

The reader can see how Jacques Girin was a pioneer of reflection on language in organizations, how fruitful is the idea of management situation and how original, in general, his thought is.

It is this work that we now deliver to readers, be they professors and researchers in management studies, students or managers. May the readers be likely to discover or rediscover this pioneering work that has now become a classic of our field.
