Joël Perez Torrents has been working on his PhD in management science on "Les usages des outils d'Intelligence Artificielle dans les soins", under the supervision of Pr Etienne Minvielle, at the Centre de Recherche en Gestion (CRG) at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris since 2020. Originally from Spain, he joined the French education system in primary school. Interested in science and research, he chose the Lycée Sainte-Geneviève to prepare for the competitive entrance exams to the Grandes Écoles, and entered the École Polytechnique in 2016. He discovered management sciences through the Technological Innovation specialization in the Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship department. In 2019, he chose to deepen his knowledge and interest in management sciences with the Projet Innovation Conception research master's degree, conducted as a work-study program with Ekimetrics, a data science consulting firm. The uses of Artificial Intelligence tools in healthcare

Over and above the prevailing rhetoric, my research focuses on the uses and practices associated with Artificial Intelligence, particularly in the healthcare system. In contrast to the prevailing vision of these tools, the dominant perspective is anti-cognitivist (based in particular on situated instrumentation, sociomateriality and pragmatism), with the aim of decentralizing attention on the technology and placing greater emphasis on the relational aspect and the combinations it achieves with human operators.
