Tech For Change: Research Seminar November, 3rd 2025
The Chair Technology for Change is pleased to host Professor Joel West, Professor Emeritus at the Keck Graduate Institute and San José State University, California. His seminar will explore the mechanisms through which firms engage in open innovation ecosystems to create and capture value in dynamic environments.
In his presentation, “Environmental Moderators of Dynamic Capabilities Utilized in Open Innovation,” Professor West develops a mediated model explaining how firms leverage dynamic capabilities—sensing, seizing, and transforming external knowledge—to convert shared knowledge into intangible assets that enhance firm performance. The study further identifies key environmental moderators, including market uncertainty, industry dynamism, and ecosystem embeddedness, that shape the effectiveness of these processes.
