Conort Paul

PaulConortI've been a PhD student at CRG since 2020 with a 9-year career in the video game industry. I've had the privilege of exploring various roles within game creation studios in Paris and Osaka. My career began as an analyst, where I developed expertise in assessing market trends and analyzing consumer data. Over the years, I progressed to product and project manager positions, coordinating teams of analysts, engineers and designers for games such as Mario + Rabbids and Rocksmith. My passion for academic research led me to undertake a thesis on Big Data and its integration into creative processes within the creative industries, using my company's projects as research ground. I'm also personally involved in several associations working for the decarbonization of our society (The Shifters) or the popularization of climate science (Citizens for Climate).

Research topics

Big Data:

I explore how massive data can be analyzed and used for decision-making and design choices within creative processes and activities. In particular, I focus on the uses, tensions and alignment processes between the various players involved in projects that have integrated Big Data.

Knowledge Brokering:

My research work on knowledge brokering aims to understand how these knowledge brokers can facilitate the transfer of knowledge between different data silos, fostering the generation of new knowledge useful for creative activities.

Creative Industries:

In the field of creative industries, I'm particularly interested in integrating Big Data into video game projects. In particular, I look at how data interacts with creative activities and game project management.
