Research topics
Sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems and institutional entrepreneurship
While the literature emphasizes the need for sustainable entrepreneurs to act as institutional entrepreneurs given their unfavorable environment, we still know little about how entrepreneurs perceive their entrepreneurial ecosystem, and how its evolution may influence the need for institutional entrepreneurship. I investigated this topic through a qualitative study focusing on the challenges faced by sustainable entrepreneurs in relation to the various components of their ecosystem.
Measuring impact and the sustainable business process
While startups are recognized for their potential in terms of sustainable development, little is known about how to assess their impact, given the lack of resources and uncertainty they face. I studied how they integrate impact assessment into their entrepreneurial process, and highlighted how the integration of the triple bottom line plays a key role in the entrepreneurial process.
Innovation policies to empower startups
Innovation policies have a tradition of promoting entrepreneurship, but more recently some have studied their ability to encourage responsible innovation. I conducted research to better understand the challenges involved in implementing and evaluating an innovation policy targeting responsible innovation for startups.
