Since the beginning of medicine, palpation has been used to evaluate the mechanical properties of biological tissues in order to diagnose various pathologies and diseases. Indeed, a change in their mechanical properties can reflect their health status. In our team, we are working on adding elastography contrast to coherent imaging techniques such as digital holography or full field OCT. In particular, we are developing a method based on noise correlation. This method, inspired by work in seismology, allows to calculate the mechanical properties of tissues from a diffuse shear wave field.
