The DNA i-mtof is thought to be rare in humans

An international consortium of researchers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Canada, Spain, Italy and France (at École polytechnique / LOB) has been investigating the long-standing question of the stability of the unusual "i-motif" nucleic acid structure in living cells. They have shown unambiguously that DNA i-motif levels are massively depleted in living human cells.
