3D/4D printing of functional materials
4D printing is the functional form of 3D printing, capable of creating dynamic and designed objects that respond to external stimuli.
Our research activity develops along three main axes:
i) The synthesis of new photocurable formulations that are nanocomposite and multifunctional.
ii) The development of advanced strategies to structure (organize) the matter at the micro- and the nano-scale during the 3D fabrication process.
iii) The development of new technologies and devices for stereolithographic (DLP, SLA) and two-photon 4D printing
The applications of our research are in the fields of optics (photonics and plasmonics), sensing and actuators, soft robotics and electronics, energy harvesting, and health.
