The Audiovisual Department is responsible for the management, operation and maintenance of all technical and audiovisual equipment installed in École Polytechnique’s meeting rooms, lecture theatres and teaching rooms. As such, it ensures that all installations remain in working order, whether these are projection systems, video recording systems, sound systems, videoconferencing systems or broadcasting infrastructure.

In addition to preventive and corrective maintenance, the Audiovisual Unit plays a vital role in supporting and advising users. It provides technical expertise to lecturers, researchers, administrative staff and external speakers to ensure the equipment is used to its full potential, taking into account the specific requirements of each event or teaching programme.

The department also contributes to the development and modernisation of audiovisual infrastructure by actively monitoring technological developments and participating in the design of new spaces or the refurbishment of existing facilities. It is therefore involved from the project planning stages onwards to propose solutions tailored to the institution’s current and future needs.

Finally, the Audiovisual Department plays an active role in ensuring the smooth running of the School’s educational, scientific and event-related activities by providing reliable and responsive technical support. It thus ensures optimal conditions for the transfer of knowledge, the promotion of research and the organisation of high-profile institutional events.
