Society and technologies are evolving very rapidly, making an increasingly connected world both the source of new complex problems and the opportunity to find their solution. Global hunger, climate change, urban poverty, digitalization, represent “Grand Challenges" which require new approaches and techniques to develop potential solutions.

However, innovation management research that looks at how to overcome these complex problems is still limited.
This track aims to explore questions such as:
How are grand challenges identified, and their development led?
What are the innovation management approaches that can be used in this context? How are they different from traditional approaches?
What organizational settings are most useful?
How is success evaluated?

We welcome literature papers, empirical studies, new methods and approaches that would help to increase the Innovation Management community’s awareness on the important topic of Grand Challenges.
