"Different facets of perovskites promises and expactations : a scientific - historical overview", by Andrei POSTNIKOV, LCP-A2MC, Université de Lorraine, Metz, France
An overview will be given of different reasons for which perovskite materials, by force of their different (dielectric, photorefractive, magnetic, etc.) properties, attracted attention of solid state researches throughout several last decades, and of related expectations and challenges. The progress of first-principles calculation methods which faced some of these challenges for reliable practical predictions will be discussed. The present situation concerning hybrid perovskites in photovoltaics will be in part covered, in a much broader context.
