Call for applications

Deadline: March 1st 2019

The PhD colloquium, which will precede the R&D Management Conference 2019, will be held on the Campus of HEC Paris on the 17th and 18th of June 2019.

This workshop is targeted at doctoral students in an advanced stage (2nd and 3rd year) of their dissertation research. The workshop will group approximately 35 PhD students in order to favour rich and intense interactions among the students as well as with the professors involved. It will include a variety of panels, practical sessions on developing a research agenda and launching academic careers, and a meet-the-editors session.

During this 2-days event, the doctoral students will have many opportunities to share their research activities (research proposals, methodological approaches and preliminary results) with peers, senior scholars and industrial experts. The Ph.D. Colloquium program features key sessions in which participants discuss their research in small groups with peers as well as with experienced industrial managers and senior academics.

These sessions will be organized on the basis of the Ph.D. project and/or an article in progress that participants have to submit once they have been accepted to the Ph.D. Colloquium. The goal of these sessions will be to provide feedback and possibly open new perspectives how their research project can achieve practical impact with benefits at industrial and societal levels.

In addition, the participants will enjoy joining a worldwide network of next generation researchers with various perspectives and with different experiences.  A networking dinner at the end of the first day of the colloquium (17th of June), and the possibility to participate in the opening cocktail of the main conference taking place on Ecole Polytechnique campus (10mn drive from the PhD colloquium site, transportation is provided) are intended to give plenty of opportunity to create lasting contacts.

The application and participation to the PhD colloquium is independent from the application and participation to the main R&D management conference that will take place at Ecole Poytechnique from 19th to 21st of June 2019.
