Propositions de contrats à durée déterminée
The SPRINT group at LULI (Laboratoire pour l’Utilisation des Lasers Intenses, Ecole Polytechnique, France) invites applications for a 2-years post-doctoral research position. The highly motivated and accomplished candidate will work on high-power laser experiments investigating high-energy ion acceleration schemes, ion interactions with plasmas and high-current neutron beam generation for applications in astrophysics and materials probing (for a general description of the group activities, see here). The work will be carried out on a range of facilities, including the upcoming multi-PW “APOLLON”, on which the candidate is expected to perform the commissioning experiments. A PhD in Physics or closely related fields is required. The candidate should have working experience in particle acceleration and/or laboratory astrophysics, be able to integrate international collaborations, take the lead on projects, data analysis and liaise with theory teams, as well as travel internationally for experiments and to participate in workshops. Good oral and written communications skills, such as experience writing papers and proposals, are required. The start date is flexible and is expected to be in the beginning of 2018.
Note that due to access restrictions, applications are restricted to EU and EU-associated countries, US, Canada and Japan nationals.
For full consideration, please send to julien.fuchspolytechnique.edu the following documents:
- Cover Letter describing research accomplishments and how the candidate would contribute to the proposed research
- a list of publications
- at least 2 letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the above email.
