M.C. Schanne-Klein : CNRS silver medal 2019

Congratulations to Marie-Claire Schanne-Klein for receiving the 2019 CNRS silver medal !

Marie-Claire Schanne-Klein is a senior researcher at CNRS in the Laboratory for Optics and Biosciences and a professor in the Physics department at Ecole polytechnique

Her research deals with nonlinear optics of chiral molecules and on second-harmonic generation imaging of collagen fibers. She works in collaboration with biologists and medical people as welll as with industrial partners.

Marie-Claire's approach is very original because she always mixes theoretical and experimental aspects which she applies to vey fundamental or much more applied issues.

She also teaches to students at Ecole polytechnique various courses in physics, from basic ones to more specialized ones in optics.
