Research Fellow Positions

The Center for Relativistic Laser Science (CoReLS), a research center at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Korea, is seeking experienced applicants for research fellows. IBS is a new research organization established to boost basic science in Korea {See Phys. Today news article: 65(10), 26 (2012). Research focuses of CoReLS are fundamentals and applications of relativistic laser science using the 30 fs, PW {Opt. Lett. 32, 3507 (2010) and Opt. Express 20, 10807 (2012)} and higher-power Ti:Sapphire lasers. Research fellows will be performing relevant research activities in the Groups of Super-intense Laser, Relativistic Laser-matter Interactions, and Attosecond Science at CoReLS. Korean citizens who did not complete military service can also apply to the special position for fulfilling military duty. The salary will be very competitive.

Responsibilities and Qualifications: Applicants are expected to organize and perform experimental/theoretical investigations on super-intense lasers, relativistic laser-matter interactions and attosecond science. Applicants must have Ph.D. or equivalent experience in the Physical Sciences or Engineering. Applicants are expected to have outstanding scientific publishing record and proven ability to work on the research field of super-intense laser, relativistic laser-matter interactions, or attosecond science. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
