Paris rated 2nd Best Student City in the world!

According to the 2017 QS Best Student City Ranking, Paris is the 2nd Best Student City in the world. After four consecutive years at the top, the City of Love fall one place and has been named 2nd in this 2017 edition.

QS evaluated and ranked 125 cities on different indicators :

  • University rankings

It reflects the collective performance of a city’s universities in the QS World University Rankings.

  • Affordability

It gives an indication of how affordable the city is regarding tuition fees and general living expenses.

  • Desirability

It highlights the desirability of each destination considering different criteria such as safety, pollution, corruption. It also takes into account the students’ perceptions of the most desirable city destinations.

  • Employer activity

This indicator is based on QS’s annual survey of employers worldwide, which asks domestic and international recruiters to identify the institutions they believe to be producing the best graduates in their sector.

  • Student View

It is based on students’ own ratings of their city in eight categories: tolerance and inclusion, diversity, friendliness, ease of getting around, affordability, nightlife, employment opportunities, arts and culture.
The number of students staying after graduation is also taken into account.

  • Student Mix

Based on the number of domestic and international students in the city, this indicator highlights the cities whose environment and facilities are well-prepared to welcome students.
