Following the École Polytechnique’s tradition of excellence in the applied sciences, the Corporate Strategy for New Markets Graduate Degree builds on your scientific training to provide an economics-based understanding of strategy and competition. Primarily intended for students with comprehensive mathematical training and an interest in economics, it is also open to those whose principle background is economics with an advanced mathematical component (see this page for further information about prerequisites).

Your degree will focus on the acquisition of two complementary skillsets. The first will apply quantitative methods, including statistics, econometrics and operations research to competitive environments in new and transforming markets. The second major focus of your degree will involve the acquisition of a comprehensive and sophisticated economics-based understanding of corporate strategy in situations of discontinuity and disruption.

To complement your general training in decision theory, industrial organization and market design, you will be able to draw from our wellspring of advanced technical know-how in various sectors including energy, telecommunications and transportation. Furthermore, training will be available in practical, cross-sectional skills covering startup management, corporate and social responsibility, crisis management and information systems.

Your teaching will be highly professional-oriented, relying on real-world case studies to uncover the hidden trends guiding the evolution of specific market segments and business models.
