High-level research training combined with innovation management know-how
While our programs have a strong industry focus, we think that in order to prepare you to take on leadership positions in technology-driven organizations, you need to first and foremost understand the frontiers of technology and know how to build bridges between research and the corporate world. You will learn to combine fundamental research, technology application and development, and innovation management.
École Polytechnique's Research Center includes 22 world-class scientific departments in 8 major fields addressing today’s most pressing social and technological challenges through interdisciplinary and cross-functional projects. Most of them are joint research units with the world-renowned French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). École Polytechnique has always integrated research into all its academic programs and in close consultation with industry (more info).
As part of your course, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research guided by some of the most distinguished faculty in the world. You will be required to undertake a 3 to 5-month research internship, using the scientific knowledge and skills obtained from the curriculum at École Polytechnique. Faculty will facilitate direct access to amazing research opportunities, both at our laboratories as well as through their contacts at their many leading academic and industrial partners in France and worldwide.
While these programs are more designed for students who plan to enter industry immediately following graduation, please note that our degree does meet the European prerequisites for admission to a PhD program.
In addition to our laboratories, we also take pride in having developed an academic department entirely dedicated to Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, as well as having, in 2015, established the innovation center– called LA FIBRE ENTREPRENEUR Drahi X-Novation Center –comprising an incubator, an accelerator, a prototyping area, co-working spaces, etc.
This allows us to offer a curriculum that integrates science and engineering with leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship and core management concepts. Throughout the first year you will be trained in topics such as project management, marketing, business law, international law, cross-cultural management, intellectual property, innovation management, entrepreneurship, technology venture creation, etc.
