Research activities:
MERGE gathers researchers all working in mathematics - more precisely stochastic processes, Partial Differential Equations (PDE) analysis and inverse problems - applied to biology.
We aim at introducing and studying new models, stochastic as well as averaged, for biological interacting population dynamics through scales, in close collaboration with experimentalists, and with a special focus to the applications in microbiology.
MERGE is a joint team between Inria and IP-Paris, and is located in the CMAP of Ecole Polytechnique. It situates itself in the rich environment of the ”accord-cadre” between IP-Paris and Inria, and we are members of E4H (Interdisciplinary Center Engineering for Health). We also belong to the very active collaboration network of Sylvie Méléard Chaire program ”Mathematical Modelling and Biodiversity (Ecole polytechnique, Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Veolia Environment, Fondation X), and in the numerous groups developing models and simulations for life sciences of the Paris Saclay campus.
