Title : Strategies of mRNA delivery

Abstract: Messenger RNA (mRNA) delivery allows the production of therapeutic proteins for several medical applications among which protein replacement therapy, tissue engineering and vaccines. mRNA therapy offers an powerful alternative to DNA-based gene therapy with higher protein expression in cells difficult to transfect without the risks of integration associated with DNA. The rapidity of mRNA vaccine production was evidenced for the development of SARS-CoV2 vaccines. However, therapeutic mRNA delivery requires tuning of the mRNA carrier and mRNA sequence for each target tissue/cell type and application. I will present three strategies of mRNA delivery: polyion complexes, lipopolyplexes and lipidic nanoparticles focusing on immunotherapy and vaccination in animal models.
