Procedure & deadlines

The applications deadlines below are for the 2018 intake.

Please read carefully the information on this page and follow the guidelines to successfully complete your application.

Start early as possible as it may take time to gather all supporting documents necessary to your application.

Who may apply to École Polytechnique Bachelor program?

Any student who is:

-currently preparing a secondary school leaving certificate, either internationally recognized or in the country of the candidate (French Baccalaureate, OIB, International Baccalaureate,  Swiss high-school maturité certificate, European high-school certificate…);
-currently preparing a scientific university entrance certificate;
-has already obtained an entrance certificate to study sciences in a higher-education institution (scientific university, specialized institute, French preparatory class…).

Students are admitted to our Bachelor program on the basis of strong academic performance in high school, especially in mathematics and science. Candidates must also have a level of English sufficient to follow this program (which is entirely in English).

What should I include in my application file?

Applicants must submit a dossier including their official academic transcripts, a personal statement, a CV, an ID, a photo and the contact details of two referents. For more information about the application file.

I am considered shortlisted, what happens next?

Shortlisted candidates then receive an invitation for an interview, which will be conducted remotely (videoconference).

The interview will last around 50 minutes and will be conducted entirely in English. For more information about the interview.

After the interview, if you pass, you will then be considered admitted to the Bachelor program.


To accommodate high school calendars from all over the world, applications are considered on a two waves basis with the first one starting on October 10, 2017 in the morning. Applying early improves your chances!

IMPORTANT: Applicants can only apply once per academic year. You are not allowed to apply to several rounds of admissions per academic year.

Application fees

An application fee of €95 will be asked of each candidate. It can be payed by credit card or bank transfer.  


Important : Information on the Campus France procedure

Applications to the Bachelor program are only available through our online application system. We are not in contact with Campus France, and you do not need to apply for a pre-registration to undergraduate studies with them. Any application to the Bachelor program made through Campus France will not be examined by our Admissions Committe.
